Head-turning flowers look like a cluster of bright yellow spiders with orange-red markings. From a distance the delicate blooms can appear light orange. Spiny, heart-shaped green leaves are mottled burgundy-red at first, forming a clump topped with long, arching spikes in spring. Like other Epimediums Amber Queen works in dry soil under trees. It’s considered part shade though it’s a lot more flexible with light conditions, tolerating more sunlight than other cultivars.
