Flowers open fire red at first, then as the flower ages it bleeds to orange-red starting from the tips of the petals, and ends the classic heliopsis golden orange. Healthy dark purple leaves have dramatic black stems and provide a perfect dark backdrop for its fiery blooms to pop. Tall clumps of this ornamental foliage are topped with blooms from July through October.
